What the Wrong Containers can Teach You

I had an interesting set back earlier in the year, where I got caught up in the wrong (aka misaligned) business coaching program - and oh boy has it opened my eyes to what shark like programs are out there, all under the disguise of ‘alignment’. 🤯

At the time when I signed up late last year, I was feeling a bit off and so ready for the next level. I had just had exposure to some rather ego driven coaches at an event that I had gone to, and these new coaches seemed to be so much more aligned. I didn’t get a ‘hell yes’ but went with it anyway………Big lesson, as I usually know so much better!

This was a one year program and the biggest investment in coaching I’d ever made.

At first I learnt lots of new skills and expanded but then the gaslighting and mind games started, followed by shutting down people asking questions.

Unfortunately the contract was set up perfectly orchestrated for this type of scenario and it was interesting to see how things got spun around to fit the narrative (it hadn’t even occurred to my mind that those things could be misconstrued in this way!).

After a fair bit of back and forth, many hours of legal study and conversations with lawyers and the ACCC, I chose to take my power back, pay and wrap things up cleanly and clearly so I was to be ‘out and free’ again as swiftly as possible without a hangover. And that’s what I did.

To cut a long story short;

I got myself out of the situation and things have been feeling clear and resolved.

I learnt a lot from all this (from all of it, good and bad). I feel tons wiser for this experience that at times felt horrible.

There is always a silver lining - or gold nuggets, which is what I like to refer to when it comes to the learnings and lessons we take out of our experiences (no matter how uncomfortable and challenging).

When it comes to processing challenging situations, I like to ask myself the question:

💡What’s this teaching me?

💡What am I learning here?

💡What am I taking from this experience?

I’ve been finding throughout my life that the more we integrate what we go through, the more we embody our learnings and avoid repeating the same experiences in the future.

Plus our body doesn’t have to hold onto the baggage anymore.

I’ve been finding throughout my life that the more we integrate what we go through, the more we embody our learnings and avoid repeating the same experiences in the future.

Amongst the many learnings I’ve taken from it so far, here are 3 top ones:

 1. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

Understanding the legal side of things better than ever, has been, and still is being, a big key takeaway.

I highly recommend reading all contracts and ‘agreements’ you enter, even more carefully than you ever have. Do not enter anything that gets sold to you in a witty way, yet doesn’t give you a chance to exit, if it’s not aligned with you. 🙅‍♀️

I’m mind blown that so many others have gone through similar stuff and to hear their stories of getting ripped off or heavily disappointed by coaching containers that aren’t run with integrity. It’s crazy that so many have been having rough experiences with this and how many coaches / containers get away with this because of unfair contracts.

It saddens me to see it, as coaching containers, held right, can be so very powerful!!

 2. OWN YOUR GENIUS + STRENGTH

This experience has definitely highlighted yet again to me what I’m really good at (a mixture of skills, expertise, natural ability, intuition and many years of experience), as opposed to what a lot of coaches out there sell (but may not necessarily embody, despite their intricate sales tactics).

Therefore, it’s lead me to step up yet again in really owning my gifts and what I bring;

I absolute love supporting 6-8 figure business owners, CEOs and high performers create astronomical growth in business and life, by being their best and truest version of themselves.

Again, it’s crazy what’s out there in the business world in form of coaching and mentoring. So much is vested interest and approaches that are out of alignment and integrity.

Which brings me to my 3rd key takeaway:

3.ALIGNMENT

The word ‘Alignment’ can be interpreted in many ways.

I guess it really depends on

ALIGNMENT - WITH AND TO WHAT?

Is it alignment to their world view and their interest? Or is it alignment to you, your purpose and being, your highest outcome?

I definitely work with the latter. For me it’s all about you being in full alignment within yourself and your purpose;

you, as the leader, living your highest alignment, genius and purpose, so you can achieve ultimate Flow, Fulfilment and Growth in Business and Life. That way you’ll also make the biggest positive impact possible, which benefits everyone else too.

When we align with our purpose, do the inner work around unleashing and unlocking our potential, so we can trust ourselves fully and lead from that place, we can create astronomical growth (and fulfilment) in business and life. This will look different for each and every one of us.

We become a magnet for goodness as we feel it inside. The positive ripples are endless!

So thanks to the experience I had, it’s really clarified for me what I bring and want to bring to the world, and also trust my abilities even more again.

I feel strong within myself, aligned and on track and excited for what’s happening now and lies ahead.

So what’s next?

I’m now part of an amazing mastermind and I feel very inspired by the beautiful container and amazing group I’m with, all shining their unique gifts.

I never stop learning and growing and I’m excited about all the new things I’m learning about and deepening.

I’m working with a bunch of new and many dear long term clients and LOVE it!

For many years now, I’ve been having the privilege of working with amazing leaders, 6-8 figure business owners and high performers globally and I absolutely love the co-creation!

  • We’ve been clearing trauma and core trauma patterns holding them back for their whole life, but also patterns that would simply stunt growth or not let things be as amazing as they can be.

  • We’re clearing limitations and are opening doors.

  • We address misalignments (within the leader, their teams and business(es)) and bring things back into alignment with their purpose, the purpose of the business and FLOW.

  • We’ve been improving and optimising their leadership.

  • We’ve been managing and resolving conflict within relationships and teams, so both the home and business life are fulfilling and value aligned.

  • We’ve been honing in on constrictions in their business, so bottle necks could be opened and flow could be restored.

  • We’re celebrating amazing milestones together.

Plus so so much more.

I absolutely love what I do!!

And things are happening.

What experience have you had lately that’s been giving you a lot of gold (when you allow yourself to fully look at it, reflect and process)?
